eBay
eBay listings, written to eBay's actual rules
Cassini weights the title heavily, then structured item specifics. Only 80 characters to work with.
Every field, every limit
These are the limits the generator enforces, then re-checks after writing.
| Field | Limit |
|---|---|
| Title | 80 characters |
| Subtitle (optional, paid) | 55 characters |
| Item specifics | up to 12 · 60 chars each |
| Description | 4000 characters |
How eBay search actually works
- The title is capped at 80 characters — the tightest of any marketplace here — so every word has to earn its slot.
- Order that works: Brand + Product Type + Key Attributes (size, colour, material) + Model or Variant.
- Item specifics are structured fields and carry heavy search weight. Buyers filter on them, so a missing specific removes you from filtered results entirely.
- eBay actively polices keyword stuffing and unrelated brand names in titles.
- Avoid filler words — 'wow', 'look', 'L@@K', punctuation runs. They consume the 80 characters and don't match anything.
- The subtitle is a paid feature: it is NOT indexed by default search, so never put critical keywords there.
What gets a listing suppressed
- No keyword stuffing or unrelated brand names — eBay removes listings for this.
- No ALL CAPS titles, no decorative punctuation.
- No 'check my other listings' or off-platform contact details.
- Condition must be stated accurately and match the condition field.
Selling somewhere else too?
The same photo produces a different listing for each. Different keywords, not the same ones reshuffled.
